The first Doctor Strange trailer is here. And, holy crap, does it look amazing. 2016 is definitely the year of superhero flicks. We've just had Batman v Superman, Deadpool, and now we still have to wait for Civil War, Suicide Squad, X-Men: Apocalypse, and now this. Hold on to your seats ladies and gentlemen, the ride is about to get more wild .
With a single exception, Marvel Entertainment has managed to make rather entertaining movies out of superheroes we never cared for (such as Ant-Man or Guardians of the Galaxy). Dr. Strange is another of that ilk. I must say, however, this trailer looks pretty good. I'll give it a try. If they can make an entertaining film out of Ant-Man they may be able to do it with this guy, too.
Pretty good teaser. Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One still seems and odd choice. I wish Benedict Cumberbatch had just used his own accent, his american one sounds a bit too much Like House MD. The reality shaping stuff looks good though. Nothing amazing but this is just a teaser, and considering they just wrapped on the film like a week ago pretty impressive they already have one made at all..
Tuesday was not a slow news day in the realm of superhero cinema. Ben Affleck declared that he’d be working on a standalone Batman film and, later, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, we got our first serious look at Doctor Strange, the forthcoming film about the lesser-known Marvel character.
Benedict Cumberbatch will play the eponymous doctor, an eminent neurosurgeon whose life is shattered after a car accident.
He sets out on a globe-crossing journey to “find himself,” as it were, upon which he encounters a mystic known as the Ancient One (a bald Tilda Swinton).
The trailer is vague with regard to specific plot points, but vivid in its imagery — we see a bearded Cumberbatch against the colorful backdrop of Southeast Asia and India and a city that looks like Hong Kong, that skews towards the surreal.
